We are a coeducational school with a roll of approximately 500 students and established in 1897. Stratford is in the heart of the Taranaki region, sitting below our beautiful Maunga, and only a short drive to the beach. Stratford High School serves the interests of the community well, meeting the academic, trades, cultural and sporting needs of a range of students.

Alternative Education teacher

Alternative Education teacher

Are you looking for a change? Would you like to work with a small group of students, and have the desire to engage them in a different learning environment? 
We seek an Alternative Education teacher to work with between 7-10 students. We currently have a group of community minded people developing ideas for a programme focused on ‘Employability’. The successful applicant would support the development and implementation of this programme, including literacy and numeracy.
We encourage potential applicants to visit the school to talk more about this opportunity.
This position is fulltime and will run for the 2022 academic year.

Kaiako of Te Reo/Tikanga

We have a position available for a dynamic kaiako to teach Te Reo Māori (Year 9-13) and Tikanga (Year 9) in our school. An understanding of Mautauranga Māori is an advantage. The position is currently part time, with a teaching load of 0.48 FTE. However, we are seeking someone with the passion, desire and skillset to grow this department in the coming years.

English/Mathematics/Employment Skills

We require a NZ registered teacher to teach English and/or Mathematics, and Employment Skills for 2022. This is a Maternity Leave position for Terms 1-3. Term 4 will be negotiable with the successful applicant.

Hard Materials Technology (Engineering) with DVC

We seek a Hard Materials Technology (Engineering) teacher with the ability to teach Design and Visual Communication. Our workshop is a modern, well-maintained facility. This position is fulltime and permanent. A commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school is expected. Applicants must be NZ registered who is fully conversant with the NZ Curriculum.
